We have a Benkelman beam fitted out with distance and deflection lasers to accurately measure both metrics as the truck travels forward. We can provide accurate D200 values, curvature function, bowl deflection curve and overall pavement defection.
The Nuclear Densometer is a fast and reliable way of determining the density, water content, percentage of compaction, saturation and air voids of site soils and aggregates.
When placing certified fill on a new subdivision development, road construction or house lot. We can undertake regular quality checks using the nuclear densometer and shear vane to ensure your certified fill meets the specific standards set out in your contract documents.
A quick and easy way of determining the insitu soil penetration resistance to soil by determining the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) value. This will determine the layer strength down to the depth you require. Generally the top 1m, but can be carried out up to 5m.
Using a hand held shear vane. We can determine the insitu soil shear strength for engineered fill, base of foundations, trench base or hand augered boreholes.
The Impact hammer a quick way to measure the insitu compaction of aggregate. This can be either in conjunction with the Nuclear Densometer, or replace it where the NDM is not suitable. The impact hammer can provide the Impact value and the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) for your trench backfill, Road or pre concrete pour compaction.
Our Technicians can come to site and accurately sample you site aggregates and soils for testing in the laboratory. We follow the correct sampling procedures, to ensure accurate lab results and rule out sampling a source of result inaccuracy.
